Empowering christening gift book for girls?

Hello.

I'd love to find a lovely hardback book which I can gift for my good friends daughters' christening present. Ideally with strong female characters and beautiful illustrations. She's only a baby so whilst I don't expect it to be suitable for now; ideally it would be something she could be read as a 2/3 year old.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've seen the feminist folktale books but I'm wondering if they're a bit grown up? Love the sound of 'not one damsel in distress' but it's not released until July.

Thanks.

Not sure if you'll find editions with beautiful illustrations, but Clever Polly and the Stupid Wolf, and Pippi Longstocking came to mind.

Beautifully presented ... take a look at Chris Riddell's Goth Girl series.
