Hi. I thought I would get some of the David Walliams books for my 6 and almost 8 year old daughters for Christmas. Can you recommend which would be the best to start with, or would any of them be good for this age? Thanks.

Mine started about that age with Gangsta Granny, The Boy In The Dress and Ratburger. They loved them - to be honest they love them all, except Grandpa's Great Escape for some reason. So I think you could start with any.

We haven't read Bad Dad yet, but as it's recently released it might be nice to include that?

Demon denist outs the truth about the tooth fairy, I've heard, so wouldnt start with that.

We started with Gangsta Granny for my then 6 year old. We both enjoyed it. Neither of us liked The Boy In The Dress. I've heard lots of good things about The Midnight Gang from friends with 6-9 year olds.

The boy in the dress is appealing, they can always watch the tv adaptation too if they are struggling 💙
