Have s look st the books by Tom Palmer. He writes for dyslexics - larger text, accessible vocabulary but subjects suitable for older kids. I can't remember but think reading she would be around 8 and suitable for older. My 12 year old DS Hayes reading but will read one of those. Subjects - war stories, football and rugby series. (Some of them on yellow paper.)

Sorry for typos - writing at speed on my phone and didn't proof read. Hopefully it makes sense!

I recommend browsing the Barrington Stoke range.

They commission some of our best writers for children (eg David Almond, Philip Ardagh, Malorie Blackman, Phil Earle). The books are clearly labelled with both a reading age and an age-appropriate rating for content. They are really high quality stories.

Also, they are printed on non-glare paper which is better for dyslexics, and they had a font specially designed for dyslexic readers, which is quite large in print and, depending on the book, sometimes double-spaced.
