Any ideas for fiction rather than self help books?

Kids are 13 & 15 and their mum has been seriously ill recently (now recovering). The older one has GCSEs stresses too.

Holly Bourne writes young adult fiction with mental health themes. Am I Normal Yet? etc. I also think the new John Green book has a character suffering from OCD.

Adrian Mole - Adrian is an anxious teen with no control over the state of his parents marriage - Sue Townsend manages to see it from his point of view and somehow make it funny

For the 15 yr old www.amazon.co.uk/Absolutely-True-Diary-Part-Time-Indian/dp/0316013692?tag=mumsnetforum-21. Being an outsider, bullying, plenty of humour & a happy ending.

Roz Asquith's Teenage Worrier books were good for me at that age. They're fiction, from the point of view of a 15 year old.

How about Cynthia Voigt? Homecoming, and its sequel - though do read them yourself first, as they might be a bit close to the bone.
