Books about art for children

I know nothing about art. Wouldn't know a famous painting if it hit me over the head. Just realised the DC (4,6) have no books about art, beyond the teach yourself to draw and the activities for young children books I bought when the DC were born in the hope I'd be able to learn how to draw a recognisable mouse by the time the DC showed an interest. 6 year old has never shown any interest in picking up a pencil, but the 4 year old loves drawing, colouring and painting. Which leads me to realising we possess no books about art. We are abroad, no access to library books in English, so would rather buy one comprehensive, good one, with decent explanations. (Does one explain art, or is it just there?) I have an Amazon order waiting to be completed. Which book should I add?

Try the Katie and the ... famous pictures, by James Mayhew, eg Kaite and the Starry Night. There's a series.

I think art is 'just there', and their response will be valid on its own, but these are a nice addition.

Oops, Katie and the Starry Night, of course!
