Last one they really unanimously loved was

www.goodreads.com/book/show/22443909-the-imaginary

Just read www.goodreads.com/book/show/11116349-an-elephant-in-the-garden?ac=1&from_search=1&from_nav=true and it didn't really grasp thier interest.

It's preferable there's pictures as my 9 year old has a bit of difficultly in reading so pictures help keep his interest - they aren't essential though.

All suggestions welcome

Try the Clever Tykes books - three different characters for him to pick his favourite from!

Ooh thank you. I'll look into these.

Got House of Secrets from the library and it's going down well. Enough for him to want to read aloud himself.

The Imaginary is a wonderful book!

Try Cakes In Space. Also, There's A Dragon In My Dinner is brilliantly funny.
