Horsey book sleuths - can you help?

I read a book - ooh, must be nearly 30 years ago - about a stable that was above a row of mews houses where the horses had to go up and down the stairs every day. A travelling circus came along and a horsewoman, who was one of the performers, had an accident. But I can't remember what it was called or who it was by.

If anyone could point me in the direction of the title/author I'd be really grateful Flowers.

Sounds like one of Gillian Baxter's think its Tan & Tarmac

You should read her Bobby and Shelta books v.good (dated now obviously but still v readable)

Tan and Tarmac

When you move from the country into the heart of London it seems that must be the end to a life with horses. But Stephanie discovers a riding school in kensington (the horses are kept upstairs in a mews!) and suddenly finds a job after her own heart.

She even gets a part in a rodeo during the Christmas season - and that leads to the most wonderful opportunity of all.

Here's a spirited story of horses and their riders from the author of the Bracken House books about Roberta Morton and her horse Shelta - Jump to the Stars and The Difficult Summer

Love you both Flowers! Have now bought a copy for DD and am looking at her others.

no probs. Definitely recommend the Shelta books, quite easy to get hold of.

Another one (not by Gillian Baxter) is a Patricia Leitch - horse for the holidays - I really enjoyed that.
