It's a long shot, but does anyone remember 'Bushy'?

I remember learning to read at school and reading all about Bushy who I think was a fox. 'Bushy can jump, Bushy can hop'. Anyone else remember these books (1970s) or am I mad?

We have some of these books! I think Bushy is a squirrel. My daughter enjoyed them recently.
