DS (who is a good reader and writer) loves crosswords, I've looked at children's crosswords but they are too easy but adult's ones seem too hard (this is starting to sound like goldilocks Grin) - any suggestions?

Just check out your local co op or newsagent. They have loads. Have a flick through until you see an appropriate one. my kids like the ones that have other word grid quizzes as well.

Good idea, I was stuck on getting a book but I'll try the newsagent. I was going to pop to WHSmith no I don't want a fecking chocolate orange with my magazine today anyway.

When I was his age, I remember enjoying doing ones in the Daily Express when we went out summer holiday! Might be worth seeing if they do books of them - I know they used to, as I got them in my Christmas stocking.
