Are Lisa Gardner books suitable for an eager 11 yo reader?

I'm searching for birthday presents for my stb 11dd. She loves Helen Moss, mystery /detective books. I'm on amazon and Lisa Gardner books are coming up ....they sound a bit full on for the 9-12 section I selected. Any thoughts or suggestions ???

Not sure about Lisa Gardner, but have you looked at Hilary McKay books? My dd loved these at 11/12. I think the first is Saffys World?
