I'm trying to track down the title of a wonderful book that I had about three years ago, but accidentally let it go in a bundle of books for the charity shop... It's the story of a little boy who's afraid of the shapes he can see in the dark in his bedroom, there's a witch-shape on the door, the chest of drawers is a huge bear...he suspects there's a dragon, and tells his parents at breakfast. Next day gets dressed up in his dress-up box armour and goes to confront the dragon "come out or I'll bash you on the nose!". Lo and behold there is a dragon under the bed, he says that most people don't notice the dragons anymore because they don't believe in them. Boy and dragon become friends and boy tells his parents that he isn't afraid of the dragon under the bed, dad tells him that he had suspected he would turn out to be a friendly one - a nice "or am I?" ending. As you can see, I pretty much know the book off by heart - apart from the title & author! Would love to track it down as there are so many different levels of reading and I'm sure that now DD can read herself she'd enjoy it...If this rings bells for anyone, I'd love to have the title! Thanks!
