I need suggestions for DS (5) and DD (4).

DS is just getting into chapter books. Enjoys superheroes, monster high, animals.

DD is showing an interest in chapter books. Enjoys princess fairy shite but also animals, superheroes etc.

Any suggestions would be great Smile

Holly Webb is classic for animal stories - My Naughty Little Puppy and Magic Molly seem to be the 2 series that are aimed at the slightly younger/starting chapter book type readers. Dick King Smith stories are great, Happy Mouseday was a particular favourite with DD when she first started chapter books.
Rescue Princesses are more feisty than rainbow fairies and secret mermaid so might be worth a look.

mine both enjoyed The Enchanted Wood and the Naughtiest Girl in the School, DD1 loved reading the Worst Witch series as well.

Fortunately, the Milk

Oh, and you can't skip past the Violet Mackerel series which is just brilliant & beautiful.

My DD (aged 5) loves the Iggy and Me books - we have the audio books which are really charming. Definitely recommend.

Both of mine loved Fortunately the Milk and the illustrations by Chris Ridell are amazing.

Has DS tried Horrid Henry or the Horrid Henry Early Readers? They also do Rainbow Fairies Early Readers which your DD might enjoy.

Just posted this on another thread and thought both of yours might like them, its Dixie O'Day Smile
