Books Box set

I really want to buy a lovely book box set for Christening presents. The children can't read yet so there isn't an age range but I was thinking along the lines of Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh, Thomas the Tank, etc. Classics that never date and aren't gender specific Wink. I am buying for a girl and a boy and want two different so they can share, not because one is female and one male.

I haven't seen any in the shops so can any one recommend a place to buy or a particular nice set of books for a Christening present please?

TIA.

The Book People do box sets at very good prices.

yes, you need 'the book people'

This isn't a box set, but is a lovely book: you can get all the Barbar stories in a large hardback book which I've given previously as a christening present. I got it

Gah, fat fingers on phone. I got it on Amazon.

I thought TBP was just via schools. Great idea, are they on line?

Barbar the elephant?

Yes to the book people! They have an online shop, yes. Also if you have The Works near you, they often do children's box sets for a few quid.

This is a lovely idea, btw!

go via topcashback and thebookpeople are even cheaper
they also often have discount codes if you register

There is a shop in town that is like The Works I think so will pop there. Thanks and thanks for the lovely idea comment. I am relieved it sounds okay as a gift.

How about the Dr Seuss set? My son received them years ago, and still dives in!

A lovely idea. Try your local Usborne rep. Usborne do a lot of box sets, aimed at age 2-6, which sounds the age group you are looking for. These are not available usually from Amazon or the Book people.

We've bought this as a christening present for a couple of friends. It's a lovely set, definitely one for parents to read to children until they are old enough to read the large book themselves.

Winnie the Pooh set

I had thought of a box set of 6-10 books but one large book like the WTP is a great idea. DD has it and I had forgotten all about it!

Thanks everyone. I will be deciding next week.
