Books Box set

I really want to buy a lovely book box set for Christening presents. The children can't read yet so there isn't an age range but I was thinking along the lines of Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh, Thomas the Tank, etc. Classics that never date and aren't gender specific Wink. I am buying for a girl and a boy and want two different so they can share, not because one is female and one male.

I haven't seen any in the shops so can any one recommend a place to buy or a particular nice set of books for a Christening present please?

This isn't a box set, but is a lovely book: you can get all the Barbar stories in a large hardback book which I've given previously as a christening present. I got it

Yes to the book people! They have an online shop, yes. Also if you have The Works near you, they often do children's box sets for a few quid.

This is a lovely idea, btw!

There is a shop in town that is like The Works I think so will pop there. Thanks and thanks for the lovely idea comment. I am relieved it sounds okay as a gift.

A lovely idea. Try your local Usborne rep. Usborne do a lot of box sets, aimed at age 2-6, which sounds the age group you are looking for. These are not available usually from Amazon or the Book people.

We've bought this as a christening present for a couple of friends. It's a lovely set, definitely one for parents to read to children until they are old enough to read the large book themselves.

I had thought of a box set of 6-10 books but one large book like the WTP is a great idea. DD has it and I had forgotten all about it!
