Books for teenage girls

Can any one recommend me some great books for teenage girls? Am thinking specifically 'Young Adult' books, and preferably realistic/contemporary rather than fantasy... TIA

I just happen to have right in front of me the latest list of books my 13 yr old has bought on her Kindle.

Can't guarantee the spellings/authors are correct going by her scrawl

There's also of course the much discussed The Fault in our Stars.

Not sure of what age your teen is so here are a few contemporary/realistic books. Just check you are happy with the content

John Green is very popular - especially The Fault in our Stars.

Jenny Valentine's books - Broken Soup

Trouble by Non Pratt (teen pregnancy)

Sarra Manning's Books - The Worst Girlfriend in the the World

Malorie Blackman is popular. What about The Perks of Being a Wallflower? I Capture the Castle (Dodie Smith) is a classic and Before I Die (Jenny Downham) is a tear jerker. Jodi Picoult is popular among teen girls as well. The Book Thief is wonderful as well.

This website has a promising looking list with some blurb about each book.

Make sure she has a library ticket and let her loose - finding your own is much the best way.

Oh my word - We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. Just finished it today - my review coming on Monday.
It was amazing.
You should read it. Your daughter should read it.
