Hi, just wondering if the rainbow fairies series of books would be suitable for 8 year olds. Considering for party bags?? Thank you x

Too young for most 8 year olds, tbh. Peak readership 5-7 I think; certainly my dds had fixated to charity by 8yo.

Donated to charity....autocorrect!

hazeyjane · 29/04/2014 06:53

Agree, my dds don't like them now (7 and 8). How about something like Enid Blyton or Rhoald Dahl books?

CrispyFern · 29/04/2014 06:57

I think 8 is too old.

Thank you all x

Agree with the others on the Rainbow Fairies. How about something like this instead?

meditrina · 29/04/2014 10:29

Most households with DDs that age will have scores of those fucking books already. (If there were just one or two series, we'd probably all say how great they are as an easy read. But now it's in the hundreds, they produce strong reactions).

I think JiltedJohnsJulie's suggestion is a good one - also have a look at The Book People and see what sets they have at the moment and split those into the party bags.

Retropear · 29/04/2014 14:14

Ooo not MM.Many kids aren't keen on the eternal misery.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 29/04/2014 15:00

What do you suggest then retro? Smile

meditrina · 29/04/2014 15:23

The Book People have 15 Roal Dahl books at £15.99 Any good?

Retropear · 29/04/2014 17:02

Roald Dahl?

Covers all tastes,no dead animals, nicely written, good to keep and pass on...

JiltedJohnsJulie · 29/04/2014 21:24
