Suggestions for easily bored 8yr old

Struggling to find a book that will engage my dd(8). She likes books (choosing them, buying them, having them around!!) but finds actually getting through a whole book really difficult. She has no problem with the technical issues of reading, just has the concentration span of a flea. She wants to read though, got quite cross tonight because all her books are 'boring'.

Can you say a bit more about what sort of books she likes and dislikes?

Short stories? DS1 is loving the Usborne Greek Myths book.

Has she tried Roddy Doyle? My DD has just read The Giggler Treatment and was hooked the whole way through with belly laughs galore.

Thankyou for the suggestions. She likes the Wimpy Kid books, and Tom Gates. I'll keep trying!! Was thinking maybe Charlottes Web?

Try Nina and the Kung Fu Aventure - my daughter finds it exciting...

My DD loves Cressida Cowell.

My DD loves the Mariella Mystery books - reads them in 2 days which is excellent as she normally takes a week to read a book.

I'd try the David Walliams books
Ratburger is a great one to start off with
