'Adventurous' magical book for 7 year old dd

Hi there
looking for a book or series of books that we can read together at bedtime. My husband read the hobbit to her, it was a graphic comic type version and someone bought her Harry Potter, which we read together also. I'm looking for something similar.
Something magical, but not too hard to comprehend. I want to save the other Harry Potters, Lord of the Rings etc for when she is older.

if anyone could suggest anything, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest Karen Foxlee's Ophelia and the Marvellous Boy which has just come out.

Very, very strong recommendation to get hold of Rebecca's World by Terry Nation. It's fantastic although out of print - some copies are available on Amazon at a horrific price. I wonder if you might get it from a library. I had the copy with the Larry Learmonth illustrations which is especially expensive but there are other versions that are slightly cheaper.

Also we've just started on the Holly Webb CatMagic, PonyMagic etc series which is great so far.

and what about the Carbonel series by Barbara Sleigh. I remember loving those.

The "How to Train Your Dragon" books are fun. "Muncle Trogg" also.

Witch Week by Diana Wynne Jones, moving onto her slightly older books.

The worst witch series by Jill Murphy? Or the faraway tree collection by Enid blyton? I loved them both when I was wee.

Oliver Moon books - my 7 year old likes reading those himself.
Worst witch also a hit with him.

If you're still looking for something; Nina and the Kung Fu Adventure

Full disclosure - I wrote this book for my 7 year old daughter.

Elise and her annoying dog Smorg explore the twisty tunnels and tottering towers of Porridge Castle. A magical place of happy ghosts, giant dancing spiders and rude signposts. Where the flying cows roam and a flame-proof hat is essential in case of dragons.

Each chapter is the same length and just long enough to get the dd settled in bed.

The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Edwards (ie Julie Andrews).
