Hi Ladies for world book day my son has to dress as a brave character from a book. Does anyone have any ideas? While we read a fair but I can't say we read any classics that spring to mind and quite stumped for ideas. Ideally it would be a costume I can easily make or buy from somewhere. Thanks very much.

Hangs head in shame. We have never read Harry Potter or watched the films as both my children think they are too scary. I think maybe we have missed out and we should all man up and watch it. Mmmmm Robin Hood; not sure I could convince him but I like it. Any more brave slightly more clothed characters? :)

Oh wow what great ideas!!! I so wish he had as suit so he could go as 007 [considers just buying a suit so he can go as this :)] Also love sherlock idea but more creatively difficult I think.

I think the grey one is very 007 and at £16.99 (if that is the price) its a pretty good deal Smile

The Lion from the Wizard of Oz - he was searching for courage

Suttonmum1 · 09/02/2014 21:27

Jack Stalwart. Plain top, rucksack full of spy equipment.

I need to read more obviously as no idea who some of these are. Did think about lion both from oz and Aslan but thought he might fee la bit of a twit in costume all day. Just looked up Jack Stalwart - sounds like a good choice as well.

My DS is a bit younger so I'm not quite sure what 7 year olds might be reading. King Arthur or one of his knights would be a fairly easy to find outfit, if knights are still cool for 7 year olds!

Following on from King Arthur, how about a hero from Greek/Roman/Norse mythology? Or St George?
