We don't have a large book store where we live, so wondered if anyone could recommend a good book for 10 & 11 year old boys to tell them about the birds and the bees in a straight forward manner and covers additional topics like emotions (love) in addition to the biology of the whole affair.

My guess is that, at 11 years old in 2014, they know all they need to know about the biology of the whole affair.

And, as for love, that's just something sex-educators throw in to make the whole process seem a little less disgusting to children's ears.

I wouldn't mention love. I mean, out of all the sex acts that take place every day and every night, how many of them are performed as expressions of love?

Some, but not very many.

Not very many at all.

What's happening to me covers everything to do with puberty and the biology of sex in a very matter-of-fact way.

Relationships and emotions I think are harder to do in a non-fiction book. (I'm not as cynical as Suzanne about the link between love and sex though!)

Thank you cornflakegirl - I'll look at that book. I actually think that in this day and age, emphasising the connection between love and sex is even more important. With the free availability of porn, it seems to have been forgotten with some groups these days.
