Just finished this amazing book, unbelievably moving both visually and as a narrative.

What age is it aimed at?

I'd put it at 12+ - its not a difficult read but the reader needs to be mature enough to understand the imagery used (about the boys fear of and anger at his mother's illness) and to cope with a story about the death of a parent. i have known younger children read but usually they have read it with their parents.
