Can anyone recommend a bedtime story book for a 1yr old that I can send abroad as a gift?

A friend in Asia asked if I could find an English bedtime storybook for her almost 1yr old DD. I thought I would get her a few but unsure what to choose. Does anyone have any good recommendations. I think she is hoping for one that can help establish a cosy nighttime routine. Thanks.

this one is rather lovely - small child has had a boardbook version from around 1yo and still looks at it occasionally aged three.

How about 'what the ladybird heard'?
It has really English characters & animals and of course all the animal noises.
My twin DDs favourite bedtime book for months.
Now they read it themselves they know it so well!

The Gruffalo. Has to be done. The rhyming is very soothing.

This one is very sweet too.

'Peepo' is a classic that we enjoy.

Mine found the Gruffalo scary until 3. "Goodnight moon" would be my recommendation, simple, soothing...
