Book set in Greece suitable for a ten year old

I'm looking for a book set in Greece - preferably modern-day Greece but I know that's a long shot!

I was going to suggest My Family and Other Animals as well. I reread it recently and still found it hilarious although not the same parts that were funny when I was 10.

There is also a very good film of it on DVD, with Imelda Staunton as the mother - lots of fun for the whole family. I think "Gerry" is about 12 in the book, so I'm sure it would be fine for a 10 year old.
