I'm putting a list together and will want to organise a couple of author visits - so I'm looking for books by living authors rather than old classics. I'm espeically hazy on books for boys but recommendations of all kinds would be great. Please tell me your dc's favourite authors - thanks Smile

Lighthouse Keeper books - Ronda Armitage, she is a lovely lady and the books are great. suitable from about 4-7 year olds I would say but also the new format chapter style ones could easily be used for older readers who are a bit behind. appeal to both boys and girls.
James Mayhew? Katie and the Art Gallery books are nice.
Julia Donaldson and Holly Web yes
Vivian French has written a lot of books.
what about an illustrator for something linked but different? Korky Paul for example or Ronda's husband David Armitage. Alex Brychta who does the Biff, Chip and Kipper ones (there is a book about him - one of the fireflies true stories ones I think, he fled from civil war in Czechoslovakia if I remember right.
Nick Sharratt
