Read on reviews it can drag in the middle.

She devoured all the Harry Potters.Want her to enjoy it so should we wait?

Would my 9 year old boys enjoy it?

DD read them age 10 - she is a keen reader, likes fantasy and generally very unfussy/reads most things. She enjoyed the first one, but said the second & third were ok but nothing special. They definitely went in the 'read when I haven't got anything else' pile.

Other things she liked that might appeal to your dd (and your dss) - Charlie Bone series, Lion Boy trilogy, Percy Jackson series, Snow Spider by Jenny Nimmo, Charmed life + the other Chrestomanci books by Diana Wynne Jones

My dd is older (12) and she found Inkheart quite heavy going! She's also read (and re-read) HP but found Inkheart much harder to get into.
