Abridged Wind in the Willows picture book for a 5yo

Does such a thing exist please? I think DS1 would be ready for WITW, but all of the versions I've seen so far are very long (around 200 pages) or very short board book versions which seem quite baby-ish. It would be for me to read to him.

I've just read WItW to ds (just turned 6yo). I did abreviate as I read some of the bits, particularly long descriptive bits, but he loved it.
I'm not sure whether it was a good idea as he's started shouting "I'm toad the terror of the highways" while I'm driving and "poop poop"... but he did enjoy it

The Usborne ones in that series have been very good IMO. Not tried that one but it is worth a try.

I've read the long version to my children several times - but I do edit as I read and leave out some of the descriptive bits and the chapter with the river sprite. They have always loved it and it's also their favourite film. It's nice to have the long version because some of them are beautifully illustrated.

I have a boxed set of 9 hard backs, illustrated by Inga Moore. The illustrations are stunning. I tried to find them on the internet but it's only available second hand. I bought the Usborne one, and it was just what I was after. Thanks *Peri. I bought the 20 (or is it 25) book set from The Book People for £20, as that seemed like better value. I am really pleased with it.

Secret Much as I like the look of the one you suggested, at 180+ pages, its just too long for DS1, even if we did just some every night.
