I think me and dd are in love with this book.

Well deserves it's prizes.

Would love to find others with similar books with quirky illustrations and similarly simple repeated story that dd and I can enjoy together - Any suggestions?

Oh No George! is good, also by Chris Haughton.

How about something by Oliver Jeffers? Stuck is funny.

I'm on the case!

This is our favourite book at the moment along with Oh No George! How old is your DD my DS is two and talks about it constantly.

HappyJoyful · 19/06/2013 15:15

Ahh MrsMarigold, what fine taste you and your son have! Am glad I'm not the only one.. DD is 2 and half.

Every night.. uh ohh, bump, bump, bump. I confess to googling the guy and eyeing up expensive rugs in the same design in the Design Museum, though that reminds me - must buy the owl! (far more affordable then the rug!)

DS2 loves the oliver Jeffers books. Stuck is, indeed, funny. DS2 adores that the penguin pops up again in other 'boy' books too.

Penguin by Polly Dunbar, about a child who receives a penguin as a gift. It's a bit bizarre, but I liked that and it has a good refrain ("Penguin said nothing") and simple but expressive pictures of the child and the penguin.

And the lion .

I have to look out for the rug and owl! Apparently Chris Haughton lives near my sister in law and she met him at an open studio afternoon.

HappyJoyful · 21/06/2013 11:06

Am liking the Penguin - another on the list! Thank you.

Here's the very beautiful very expensive rug

and the 'owl' lovely and far more affordable for anyone loving the book!
