Can anyone recommend some good story CDs for 4yo DS and us to listen to on the long drive to the south of France this summer?

Ideally stories that DH and I won't mind listening to over and over and over again please...

Thanks.

Mr Men
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
The Reluctant Dragon
The Wind in the Willows

Lots of good free audio books here, just download and burn your own (lots of American accents in storytelling though as US site).

Try these Roald Dahl stories. There's 10 stories on 27 discs including BFG, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Danny the Champion of the World and Matilda. They're read by people like James Bolam, Stephen Fry and June Whitfield. We have them in the car at the moment (have put them on iPod so we don't have to keep changing discs though). They're very good quality and fine to listen to in the car - we found that some audio books don't work too well with engine noise - depends on the voice of the person reading it.

Wow, thanks everyone. Lots to choose from.

I don't know the Giggler Treatment but I like Roddy Doyle. And DH likes Roald Dahl. I think it's important that we like them too if we have to listen to them for hours.

Thanks for pointing out about the engine nose too. That wouldn't have occurred to me.
