Hello, my 3.5yr old has been really enjoying the Katie Morag books at bedtime and likes the illustrations too, just wondering if there are any other books as lovely that she might enjoy? We have a few of the light house keeper too, but they seem a little text heavy at the moment! Thank you!

Katie and the Art Gallery ones? James Mayhew is the author I think. They have beautiful illustrations and introduce the major artists. My daughters love them.

Milly Molly Mandy appeals to my 2 as well and you can get ones with colour pictures in.

we are currently in a bit of a Paddington phase. They have republished some of these with colour pictures, found some cheaply in The Works recently so worth a look.

I was going to say the Lighthouse Keeper ones but yes they are a bit heavier text wise.

Eloise books?

Seeline · 14/05/2013 11:23

My DD used to like the Princess Poppy books -similar to Katie Morag with lovely pictures. Htere is a little envelope at the front of each book with a letter from Poppy. What more could you want Wink
My DD loved My Naughty Little Sister at about that time too.

the art ones are beautiful - you will really like them, there are about 12 of them I think in total. forgot princess poppy, we love winnie the witch here. Naughty Little Sister and Alfie books she might like yes.

meant to look on the bookcase this evening but hubby worked late so bedtime was a big rush on my own so I haven't yet. will look in the morning and give you some more ideas.

Alfie books are fantastic - all mine loved them. Would also heartily recommend 'Hairy Maclairy' books.

The Utterly Otterleys www.amazon.co.uk/Utterly-Otterleys-Mairi-Hedderwick/dp/0340873698/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1368653304&sr=1-1&keywords=The+Utterly+Otterleys

only just realised it's the same author as Katie Morag- oops, that's why it appeals Smile. I love the rich language as well as the fantastic illustrations.

Captain Pugwash, lots of the ones Periwinkle says.
