Charlie Higson - suitable for 12yo?

DS1 has been getting through the Michael Grant books and he is on the last one. Was thinking of getting him the Charlie Higson books for his birthday (when he will be 12), but are they suitable for a 12yo?

Have not read them myself but DD1 read and loved and she is not one for anything too bloody. In fact we saw Charlie Higson on university challenge the other day and she was recalling how much she had enjoyed the books.

Depends which series you're talking about. Young Bond is fine. The Enemy is his zombie apocolypse series and is pretty gory. However, if he's read 'Gone' he should be OK.
