Kindle books for children: DD, age 10y

10y DD bought herself a Kindle today and is so far loving it.

Can anyone recommend any good Kindle edition books we can start looking at?

She isn't one of the MN super readers - she's an average 10 year old (just finished Y5), reading ability is average/a little above but nothing more really. Reads in bed at night for half an hour to an hour, but doesn't read particularly fast in general.

Likes different types of books - David Walliams, Wimpy Kid books, Dork Diaries, Michael Morpurgo. Not really keen on the Jaqueline Wilson type books, etc.

And especially any freebie/cheap books are welcome :)

Does she like any 'classic' type books? Little women, Alice in Wonderland and the What Katy Did series are all free IIRC

I've downloaded little woman, secret garden and Alice in wonderland do far for free/cheap

The Golden Acorn is free I think. It's a bit magically, druids, time travel, the Roman era etc. There are more in the series if she enjoys that one.

My friend recommended these as a fun read. Her daughter is 11 (and reads about that age). My DD has read the first one...we read it together. www.amazon.co.uk/paul-davies-danny-diamond-Kindle-Store/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3A341677031%2Ck%3Apaul%20davies%20danny%20diamond&page=1
70p or so I think.

Thanks I will have a look.

She likes Harry Potter so the magical one may be worth trying too - cheers!
