DS loved Michael Morpurgo books and I have been looking for something similar. I have found Michelle Paver's series on Amazon and it looks similar, but is the text a bit more complex?

Quite different, but my son absolutely loved them! So, worth a try.

Yes, yes, yes, so good I read them aswell, absolutely brilliant kids books. My DS now nearly 17 still remembers them fondly and some situations have helped with RL problems. can you tell we loved them

Isabel Allende has a trilogy in a similar vein which is also fantastic again I read them
