when I was at primary school (30 years agoGrin) we read a book, that was a collection of short stories. one was about a footballer - and this was where the title came from, it was something to do with a 'banana kick' , I think. The only other story I can remember from the book, was a story where the twist was that a group of alien space children had been 'watching' children on earth.

I am not explaining this very wellGrin

It has been driving me mad for days, and although it is bound to be out of print, it is a book I think ds would have liked.

(I used to know of a website where you could track down books you couldn't remember- but i can't remember the name of that either!!)

can anyone help with my ramblings?

I don't know it. I do know of a website, well a livejournal community that tracks down books if you don't have any luck here. It's called whatwasthatbook.

Another search site is Abe books (google it) which has two search forums on its community page.

The Goalkeeper's Revenge.
The Goalie was famous for being "The goalie who stopped Bob Thropper" -
we read it at school too, in the late seventies iirc.
