Dd, 11 years, has just finished some graphic novels. She has good reading ability and I bought graphic novels for a change. Do you think persepolis is appropriate for this age group? Or is it better to wait till she is a bit older?

I've read it and thinnk it could be OK if she is a mature 11 year old. It does talk about racism and people being dragged off by the secret police though. I don't recall graphic violence or anything (though someone does die falling off a building).

Thanks. I think she will be able to handle violence/death /race related issues but I was particularly worried about any sex in it.

I don't recall sex. There may possibly be allusions to sex. I suppose that if there is any (my mind is blank on this one) it's not graphic or even memorable...
