Book about France/with France in it for a toddler

We're off to France in a few weeks and am putting together a pack of fun things for my toddler for the journey (7 hr ferry....urg). I can't seem to find anything at all suitable for a toddler (3YO) which is either set in France or talks about France/French. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Look on the usborne website they do early french books - and I thought Topsy and Tim had a french adventure - will have a look for some links

Here's Usborne French bits www.usborne.com/catalogue/catalogue.aspx?cat=1&area=L&subcat=LF look at the bottom of the page and there's a 'First trip to France picture book.

Was lying about Topsy and Tim though.

Also the Book People www.thebookpeople.co.uk often have Children's travel type books.

Thanks v much. Couldn't find the trip to france book (does anyone have a link?) which is a shame as that sounded ideal. Will definitely pick up a Madeline book.

Green light for the Little Red Train - the only thing is that they go through the Channel Tunnel (although you can see the boats on the surface in the same picture) Will also come in handy for trips to Spain and Italy :)

Barbar?

the picture of Babar's father all green and wobbly after having eaten a poisonous mushroom gave me nightmares for months when I was about 4!

SwedishEdith · 28/02/2012 21:19

Ha ha! My youngest first read it when she was about 4 and found it (and still does) hilarious! Grin

I got a gorgeous book for DS when we were in France last summer, about going to nursery. Each page has a different part of the day at nursery: arriving, having lunch, playing, napping, etc. Lovely pictures. It's called a la creche by Nathalie Choux and is published by Milan jeunesse.
