Terry Pratchett books for 11year old boys?

I've never been into Terry Pratchett myself but someone suggested my DS might like them.

Looking on amazon though there are hundreds and I'm not sure where to start??

Are they all child suitable or are some specifically for children?

Are the disc world books suitable for children? And if so where do we start with them, thre seem to be so many, do we start at the beginning and work through in order??

Truckers is probably the best place to start for an 11 year old, (sequels are Diggers and Wings).
And Johnny and the Dead/Johnny and the Bomb are children's books. The Tiffany Aching books and Nation are YA, but on the old side of YA, so maybe not quite suitable for an 11 year old.
I'd leave the Discworld books for a year or two, and then approach them in order of publication (others may disagree about order, but I think they become a bit more adult as they progress, so for his age that's a good order).

My 11 yr old loved the tiffany books, he's also read the witches ones and the ones with DEATH in. He also liked guards guards. Luckily my Dad is a big fan, so could steer him towards the ones he thought my ds would enjoy.

So Truckers isn't disc world then?

Thanks for the advice.

The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents would be a good one. Can't comment really on the Truckers books, never got into them and far preferred the discworld books (started reading them about 11-12)
Nation was quite a good one too.

Truckers isn't a discworld book but is still a good read & is more of a childrens book than the discworld ones are.

DD1 has just started reading Only You Can Save Mankind. She's enjoying it but some of the jokes are a little above her level. She's 8. It's one of my favourite Pratchett books and definitely suitable for an 11yo. I love it and i'm 31! (TA books are also firm favourites)

My son has just read "Mort" although a lot of the humour went completely over his head.
