Books for a 8month old

my 8 month old loves books, sometimes over playing with toys - and I am keen to support this love! I read out of necessity, but my DH loves to read.

she likes the touchy feely books and will enthusiastically feel all book pages now and i picked up the zoo book (with the flappy pages) which she enjoyed earlier.

Can you recommend any books that will 'last'?

We have quite a few 'thats not my' books!

Thanks

We like the 'say hello to the animals' books by Ian Whybrow...

By "last" do you mean that she will enjoy the story for a year or two or that she won't destroy?

How about Each Peach Plum or Pear?

Spot books (DS still loves these at 2.5)

I hate them, but they have good strong pages, resist dribble well and have simple stories with a not too cluttered page.

DS has liked Nick Sharratt books for at least a year or two - Don't put your finger in the jelly nelly, was his favourite for ages.

The very hungry caterpillar

Rod Campbell who wrote Dear Zoo has written lots of other similar ones-
see here for ones in print
