Can anyone tell me what this secret book is?

I have a book that is wrapped in black paper with a gold coloured seal. The gold seal has picture which I don't really recognise - it looks like three balls and a hook or sword type thing at the top.

I don't want to break the seal as it'd be so exciting for a child to do that part. but I don't want to give it as a present to someone who's too young to read it either. If it's a book for an much older child I could put it away for a while.

I thought Harry Potter at first but Google hasn't helped. Has anyone seen anything like this or have one?

How did you come to be in possession of this book?

What makes you think it's a child's book?

I think it's sealed because it contains rude adult pictures.

The seal sounds a bit like a pawnbroker's sign. But no idea other than that!

No, I'm sure it's not adult ! I have a box of books that were a gift when my son was a baby. All children's books but some were for when he was a to baby and a couple are for when he's older - up until he's 10.

He's 6 now, so i've just been going through to see if there are any he would like now.

It looks sealed in a fun way, like it could be about magic or something.

Sounds as if it was specially wrapped/bound as part of the gift-wrapping service.
Could you ask whoever bought it for you? Sorry, you've prob thought of that already!

Yes, unfortunately it's too long ago now and they don't remember either. I didn't wonder about it at all when he was a baby as it's thick like a paperback and not a baby book.

It's not like gift wrapped. The black paper is held together by a seal - so like a gold splodge imprinted with a stamp. It's definitely mass produced not hand done. So I thought maybe a Harry potter one or something else well known might have done it.

The above company gift wraps in black with a gold seal, scroll down for pic, although it's not a wax seal.
