Mystery books for DD (9) following on from Enid Blyton's Mystery Set

My dd, aged 9 1/2, has just devoured all 15 of Enid Blyton's mystery set books and has asked me for more 'similar' books. She's already read most of Blyton's other sets (Famous Five, Secret Seven, Mallory Towers, St Claires) and love them all. She's particularly interested in more 'mystery' type stories.

Any suggestions for similar mystery books suitable for a 9-10 year old?

A bit different, but she might like the Roman Mysteries by Caroline Lawrence

Thanks, Takver, will have a look at those.

dd (10) would suggest Dead Man's Cove (and sequel Kidnap in the Caribbean) by Lauren St John , 13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison, Cat Royal series (starts with Diamond of Drury Lane) by Julia Golding

Try 'Frozen in Time' by Ali Sparkes. It incorporates her request for mystery and her love of Blyton!

Another vote for the Roman mysteries, Nancy Drew/Hardy boys/Alex Rider are all a bit harder, but she might enjoy too.

DD hasn't read them, but I've also seen the Lady Grace mysteries recommended on here, and keep meaning to look out for them.

LIZS · 20/11/2011 10:02

yes had forgotten those, dd read some Lady Grace stories last year.
