I have previously given box sets of complete Beatrix Potter, Mr Men, Winnie The Pooh and Thomas the Tank Engine - either from someone like The Book People or back when I had money to throw about from The Folio Society.

PFB was given hardback copies of Peter Pan and The Jungle Book when he was born which I thought were lovely gifts.

We've bought a dr Seuss compository & the Usbourne stories for boys/girls before. Check out book people & Red house, as they both usually do nice collections / hard backs.

If wanting a Christian book, given a Christening, then Jan Pienkowski's wonderfully illustrated Christmas - the christmas story told in bible language with the most beautiful silhouette illustrations - you can get in both hard and soft back I think. Our favourite page is the one where the elephant doesn't want to go on board ship.

The Book People have the Beatrix Potter sets on sale at the moment.

A really nice book of poetry or nursery rhymes always seems to go down well.

Thanks, Ive ordered them an Usborne bedtime story book each.

The daft thing is that they are only getting them christened so they can get into a school, so i was going to get them a bible, just for badness, but didnt dare!
