Can anyone remember a book from my childhood?

It's just the image I remember. Of a stuffed horse/donkey sitting down sort of floppy.

I can remember the image and am sure I loved the story but cannot remember it

no

Thanks South Grin

He was sat on his bottom, with like jointed front floppy legs. Actually thinking about, it may have been Enid Blyton.

Off to google

No, it wasn't eeyore theyoungvisiter

My mum passed away in July and I'm trying to find all the books we used to love to read together but for the life of me I cannot remember me.

It was a chapter book. I think it may have been a yellow cover

There is a recent book about a stripy horse - it's not that one is it?

I used to have a book about a family made of string who lived on top of the kitchen dresser but nobody remembers it and I can't get hold of it anywhere.

nannynick · 12/11/2011 22:45

Enid blyton wrote a couple of books with a donkey in them. However can't find a picture that matches.

Anything else you remember about the story?

bytheMoonlight · 12/11/2011 22:47

It's not recent spugglers, my mum used to read it to me when I was a child.

I think it more about toys than horses I think.

Thanks Cheesesarnies, I've googled Enid Blyton covers but couldn't see it.

I can't remember any stories about string people but I think I do do remember a story about a shrinking woman, was that little miss pepperpot? Hopefully someone may be along that can remember for you spugglers Smile

From what I can remember nannynick, it was a stuffed toy horse and the story was based around toys - maybe coming to life?

We used to read Mrs Pepperpot! I remember that one vividly

theyoungvisiter · 12/11/2011 22:54

I do remember one about a group of toys including an elephant called Hannibal - I think there was a horse in that? But I can't remember the title and I think it was a picture book.

Makingchanges · 12/11/2011 22:54

Spugglers was it this one?

Making Changes - That's the one! Grin

It was definitely a chapter book because I can remember the feel of it in my hand the young visitor. It was thick like an enid blyton would be which may be why I'm thinking she was the author, when she wasn't.

Sorry I'm not giving many clues am I?

On the bright side, Spuggles may have found her long lost book!!

Bythemoonlight - I can remember reading a book where the toys came to life. I'm thinking Enid Blyton too.

MumblingAndBloodyRagDoll · 12/11/2011 23:02

No mumbling.

The donkey is most def a toy, I can remember he is jointed, you can see the stitches or joints. And he is sitting down in a floppy sort of way
