Do you mind telling me how many they read before moving on? My ds has always been a lover of books got some beastquest as a gift and has been engrossed ever since currently reading number 39 and has put the remaining books on his Christmas list and currently has no interest in reading anything else. Just wondering if other peoples kids read them all or gradually lost interest.

DS is currently reading one a day and showing now signs of giving up. Would love to know too.

DS1 would probably read them morning, noon and night if possible. I took the plunge and bought them all as they seemed such a ridiculous bargain.

My ds still likes them but the initial period of obsession was about 4 months! His new thing is Diary of a wimpy kid, I gave him the box set on Thursday & now he's on the last one!

DS has been reasonably interested in BQ for a year.

Ds1 is 10 and has gradually lost interest in them over the last year - he moved onto the Heroes of Avantia series but for the first time for 4 years doesnt have any on his Christmas list. I'm delighted as by the end he was reading them in about an hour so they were an expensive buy! He has moved on to Skullduggery Pleasant, the Edge Chronicles and dreadful Goosebumps!

Diary of a Wimpy kid
Skullduggery Pleasant
Magic Tree house books
Secret seven
Captain Underpants
Mr Gum
Jeremy Strong

My DS read to Series 4 and then abandoned them for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. I still have an unopened Series 5 in a cupboard.

DS read them all (except the six that came out this September). He just would not entertain the prospect of reading anything else while there were still BQs to be read, so I encouraged him to read them so that we got it over and done with. I have kept Very Quiet Indeed about the Heroes Of Avantia spin-off.

DS is a voracious reader, has read all BQ and put them on his Christmas list. He got hooked in year one and is now year three. But he's reading other stuff too, it's like they're his fast food reads ie he gobbles them up then goes on to something else. But when a new one comes out he devours it. His twin sister had to read what felt like every Rainbow Magic but someone said 'it's just a phase' and she did grow out of it.

DS1 read about 4 series in year 2 so he was 6/7 - then onto Potter, Percy Jackson, Wimpy Kid, Mr Gum plus countless others.

Much as I hate BQ they were excellent for getting him into the reading habit. In Y4 now the boys have started getting back into them for some reasonConfused nut at least those are read at school, not brought home where DS2 will ask me to read them to him.
