Beast Quest, Golden Armour???

DS1 has just announced, out of the blue, that he wants to use his pocket to buy the whole series...

He's never shown the slightest interest in any Beast Quest before, so I know nothing about them. Are they any good? What age are they aimed at? Any idea how many books there are in the Golden Armour series? Do the books stand alone, or do you have to actually read the whole series?

So many questions, sorry... x

The first 7 quests are on the book people website at the mo there are 6 books in each quest. They are quite samey but boys seem to love them. I think there are about 60 books in total. Not really familiar with the golden armour though.

Ds1 is 5.5, but reading age is older, i believe. He adores beast quest, devours them in about 45 mins. They are used as bribes, ahem, rewards, here (and guarantee all sorts of good behaviours). He has just got on to series 2 and read book 7 three times already. Be prepared to lose your 6 yr old in Avantia....
Actually, before having seen the boooks I was anti (on general principle of not wanting a series that long, all that heroic fighting stuff etc etc) but having vetted the books ,i find them harmless ,if a little monotonous, but i don't have to read them and as i said, ds1 adores them.
