Any Charlie & Lola book (Cbeebies connection I think!),
Any Thomas the Tank Engine story,
"A Squash and a Squeeze" by Julia Donaldson.

Have listed 3 because he insists on at least bedtime stories every night..

downpipe · 18/10/2011 14:33

Sorry,I meant at least 3 bedtime stories every night

SpottyWellies · 18/10/2011 14:33

cjbartlett · 18/10/2011 14:33

The Gruffalo

And Calm Down Boris

My current fave to read to 2 year olds is Quiet Night In - a large family book

thousandDenier · 18/10/2011 14:36

Jack and the Flum Flum Tree

CaptainNancy · 18/10/2011 14:38

Puss in Boots
The Gingerbread Man
Peepo
Stick Man

thousandDenier · 18/10/2011 14:39

PS - is the misspelling in that Jack Draws Anything ad ----> over there deliberate? Confused

WhatWouldLeoDo · 19/10/2011 21:47

When he was two he enjoyed any of the Oliver Jeffries books. Now at nearly 3.5 it's just Thomas the Tank engine over and over...

PartialToACupOfMilo · 21/10/2011 22:25

Peepo and Each Peach Pear Plum, closely followed by Princess Peppa (the 5 little library books - especially the party story)

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 21/10/2011 22:27

Anything dinosaur related, stick man, zog, tabby mctat, tyrannosaurus drip, supermarket zoo (brilliant book IMO as us How To Grow A Dinosaur)

MULLYPEEP · 21/10/2011 22:45

Any shirley hughes alfie books. I think because there are lots of words and the pictures are so fab and of things my DD sees like birthday parties.

etyksm · 26/10/2011 22:18

Monkey Puzzle (same author as gruffulo)
Buzy bee pop up book
little red train books
Thomas Tank engine books

arethe ones that he seems to pick out the most

When DS was 2 he didn't want to listen to books with more than a short sentence on each page, really. He liked the Kipper Storyboard books (Honk, Meow, Splash, etc) and I thought these were really nicely done - but even Thomas (his hero!) wouldn't entertain him for long, because you had to stay on one page for too long a time. Now he's 3 he loves picture books with a few sentences on each page but it's taken this long!

Anything with flaps was good, and counting books, and things which had a surprise or were repetitive ("Whose tail" was good). And the "noisy" books with buttons which play sounds. So much so that for bedtimes, I decreed that he is allowed one book with things like flaps, noises or activities, and then two normal books - the ones he could participate in were hyping him up too much Grin

BertieBotts · 26/10/2011 22:29

They had the "zoopermarket" one at the children's centre. I hated it - not sure why. Probably irrational. I love his other books though. Elephant Wellyphant is great. And "Pants" is excellent.

naturalbaby · 26/10/2011 22:34

10 little ladybirds there are also other similar touch and count ones
the ladybird heard
Dr.Suess - last week he was walking around saying ''luke luck licks lakes luke's duck likes'' Grin

Go to bed Doodlehead - so now his insults are "go away Poodlehead!" and "push off pecky face!"
and all the other regulars mentioned above

happycamper23 · 26/10/2011 22:36

Hairy mclairy (any of them)
Douglas
Each peach pear plum
The snail and the whale
Gruffalo or tyrannasaurus drip
We also have a book called Tango, about a gay penguin, which he loves!

ohfuschia · 26/10/2011 22:49

Rabbit and the Big Red Scooter
No Matter What
Fleabag
Max and the Moon (something like that anyway!)

Sirzy · 05/11/2011 21:11

each peach pear plum. I have read it so much I can now recite it without the book. If I read it once more I think I will go insane!

Pretty much anything by Julia Donaldson,
I dreamt I was a dinosaur,
Peepo.
