DS is in year 2 and itching to get stuck into a new series he's a good reader for his age ORT 10. Having looked around I am considering oliver moon, Charlie small or Jack stalwart. Which would you recommend? Or something else? He is quite partial to facts I have to say.

Thanks.

None of these are particularly factual but all would be suitable for his reading age. What about the Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osborne if he wants something with facts in it?

Thanks Madamhooch he has read all 28 magic treehouse and the merlin missions after those. They were a big hit.

Try Lucy Coats' 'Greek Beasts and Heroes' series. She's the author of 'Atticus the Storyteller's 100 Greek Myths' and two of the characters in this book now appear in this series of 12 books for children aged 5-8.

Horrible Histories. Several of the boys in dd2's (yr2)class last year loved them.
