Little Red train(Ben Blathwaite) Mr Magnolia, any Mrs Armitage books(Quentin Blake), Percy the Parkkeeper (might be a bit long for a toddler), any Donaldson/Scheffler ones..... Umm. Loads more than this actually, but these just pop to mind

My 4 and 2 year old both love
Shhhh by Sally Grindley
The Hen House and the other fast fox, slow dog books by Alan Ahlberg
The Blue Kangaroo books by Emma Chichester Clark
4year old likes all the Winnie the Witch books and the Angelina Ballerina books and now The Tear Thief by Carol Ann Duffy
2 year old likes Babysitter Bear by Laurence Anholt

Six Dinner Sid (there's at least one sequel too). Funny, non-slushy book about a cat with fantastic illustrations. Have a particular soft spot for it because it was the first book my DD read on her own.

We are all loving "That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown" at the moment - It is fun and a joy to read for the parents too - Fresh and novel with great illustrations.
(Publisher: Orchard, ISBN-10: 1843624516, ISBN-13: 978-1843624516)

The Very Ugly Bug - Liz Pinchon
Hairy McLary
Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs - has about 100 sequels
SuperDuck series - Jez Alborough
