does any one have any great book suggestions to introduce maps and world geography to a 5/6 year old with lots of enthusiasm..

I'm thinking of getting DS a globe for his birthday, a bit of an easier concept to het his head round than a flat map. Got given this, which is fun with all the stickers.

Am also thinking of a big wall map of the UK to put photos of friends and family on so he gets an idea of where we're off to next and we can explain how long it takes to get places.

Not quite maps, but Children just like Me is a lovely book to introduce the idea of people living in different places/ways and would go well with a globe or set of maps.

The Usborne Lift the Flap Picture Atlas is ideal.

A light - up globe plus a pictorial atlas with themes such as animals, crops, landmarks etc. would be what I would go for.

Ooh, light up globe. I think I'd be happy with one of them.
