I have just brought 'there's a house inside my mummy'. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Not sure about 'mummy laid an egg' is he a bit young still for it (he's only just turned 3)

Thanks

I bought these two books for my DD when I was pregnant with DS.
She was only one at the time.

Neither book has any text, just beautiful illustrations that show the various aspects of pregnancy and having a new born baby.

You can discuss and describe the pictures at whatever level is right for your child.
My DD loved them both.

I hated pretty much every book I could find on this topic, as they're all terribly twee and saccharine. I like "Mummy laid an egg", but at 2 years old (now 2.5) my daughter was still a bit young for it.

In the end we got "I want a Sister" out of the Little Princess Series by Tony Ross and she quite liked it

DD liked this one:

here

9 double page spreads, on one side is a few facts about what the baby is doing that month and on the other a picture of a baby in the womb to hold against your bump so they can see what the baby looks like.

A page at the end with a few bits about a new baby- it cries a lot, poos a lot, gets fed from breast or bottle etc.

DD liked 'Where Willy Went' by Nicholas Allan. It was in the local library, so might be worth looking there before buying.

Hi,
We used 'Mummy laid an egg' when my DD was 3.5.
We also really liked 'Hello Baby' by Jenni Overend. It's about a home birth and describes the birth process really beautifully. It was still relevant even though I wasn't have a home birth.
