I'm looking for a book, suitable for a 3-4 year old, about being an older brother. My friend has just had a baby girl; last year when I had my DD she got a fantastic gift for each of us (me, DH, DS and baby DD) so I'd like to return the compliment.

I guess I could get a Charlie and Lola book but any other suggestions very welcome!

Thanks Smile

I really love India Knight's 'The Baby (but I'd have preferred a hamster)' - though there is a risk that big bro will start calling the baby Poopoohead. It's charming.

Alfie and Annie Rose books by Shirley Hughes should fit the bill and are timeless .
As in fact are all of her books < Shirley Hughes fan emoticon>

Billy and the baby might not look much but it is a lovely story!

sometimes I buy books with the name in, ie Baggy Brown for someone called Alfie, cant think of any more, brain has gone blank!

Thanks! Sorry hadn't got on here sooner to reply, all suggestions sound good but I think he's a Shirley Hughes kind of boy so will go for that one Smile.
