Books about moving house

Hi,

We're going to be moving to New Zealand soon, my DS is 2.9, really responds to picture story books and when we were potty-training I found he really liked having a few books with that as a theme that we could talk about and read.

So...does can anyone recommend any books where the characters move to a new house?

There's definitely a Shirley Hughes one where they move house - go from a flat to a house in the country . . . will try to remember the name as it might hit the spot.

I think it was this one

Oh that's great, I had a quick search on amazon but wasn't very imaginative about terms so just had the Usbourne 'Moving house' come up.

There are some others associated with that book that might be good leads too...

Does anyone know this book?. The description is: "Narrated from a cat's point of view, this picture book tells the story of a family moving house and of the upset it causes to a small boy and the cat he so clearly loves."

I'm wondering whether it's very downbeat, or whether it's All Ok In The End? We don't have a cat, btw. Could be useful to talk about any sad feelings?

I don't know the Michael Rosen one. One I got when we moved was this www.amazon.co.uk/Big-Ernies-New-Home-Children/dp/1591473837/ref=pd_sim_b_4. It might be suitable is as quite sensory and deals with moving to a very different environment.

We are moving house soon and my dd aged 5 started not sleeping so I wrote her a very simple book with pictures telling her what was going to happen. Like "on moving day the lorry will arrive and but all the boxes on a lorry" I put pictures of lorries and boxes and the new house. She took it to school and used it in show and tell. It didn't take me very long but it has ment she is sleeping again
