DD10 -has really enjoyed reading this book. What can I get her next. I think she liked the quirkiness of this book.

Hmm. Hard to think of anything quite as quirky! I love that book - I was in a production of it when I was ten (I played the spelling bee :o)

What else has she enjoyed?

Has she tried Artemis Fowl, or Lemony Snicket?

zeus123 · 08/02/2011 21:52

yes she has devoured lemony sniket, not read artemis fowl but didnot realise that it is quirky. Finished HP and some of percy jackson.

It's a little more mainstream type quirky, if that makes sense, but I really like them - it's not an average fairy/pixie/magic series by any means!

Diana Wynne Jones - Charmed Life.

Helen Cresswell's books.

Alice Through the Looking Glass.

The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge.

The Midnight Folk by John Masefield.

Dont't know if any of those will do it, but they are all quirky/magiccy in different ways.
